Tax and Internal Controls

This role will manage tax-planning functions for the company, including addressing tax issues raised by operations and implementing strategies to reduce the company's effective tax rate. The Tax Specialist is also responsible for coordinating all internal control requirements that the Client is required to follow as a Swiss incorporated company.   • Coordination of the tax relationship with Finance, Commercial and Legal
  • Provide financial data to outside providers for the preparation of tax returns
  • Review property tax filings and sales and use tax filings
  • Review of tax analysis and modeling, including the FAS 109 tax accounting impact, of strategies to reduce the company's effective tax rate
  • Advise and educate the company on state and foreign taxable presence issues
  • Respond to ad hoc tax questions
  • Lead monthly tax meeting with shareholders
  • Manage all tax projects to conclusion
  • Ensure all tax filings are made timely
  • Ensure all account reconciliations related to tax are properly supported
  • Review of tax language in customer contracts
  • Manage tax relationship with outside service providers and with party companies
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures related to tax
  • Prepare internal control assessments
  • Perform risk assessment
  • Coordinate and monitor Client policies


Education and Work Experience:
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in finance area. An advanced tax or law degree would be a plus
  • Six to eight years of tax general tax experience in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment
  • Experience in VAT and income tax is required
Note: Internal controls, sales and use tax, property tax and other skills can be acquired on the job Technical Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of tax principles which may impact a multi-national manufacturing company
  • Research and writing skills
  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • FAS 109 tax accounting skills
