Prestigious Fortune 500 Company, located in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago, is currently seeking a Senior SUN Unix Systems Architect. Candidate will design stand-alone, and multi-tiered clustered environments to support various business units.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to work directly with clients and obtain system requirements. Then take those requirement architect and design solutions to meet the business needs. When not designing solutions, the candidate will with work on deriving standards and implementing process improvements within the group. The candidate must be able to represent the department in meetings with vendors while also working with middle and senior management within IT and the Business Units. The candidate will need to be a self-starter that can work independently and with other technical staff within the IT organization and different business units.

Qualifications:
The candidate must have a minimum of 7 years experience as a Unix systems administrator with 3 years experience as an architect.
The qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of Unix internals, and be comfortable with system installation and configuration, system security and third party software installation. Experience with POWER5 and POWER6 technologies running AIX 5.3, 5.4 or 6.x required along with understanding and implementation of VIO and HACMP.
Additional working knowledge of Solaris, Linux and HP/UX along with working knowledge of Oracle preferred.
