We are currently seeking a Wireless Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Chicago Suburban area.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Wireless Engineer will be serving as a technical subject matter expert for various specialized wireless development projects related to Alcatel Lucent (ALU) equipment.

Day to day responsibilities may include:
- Cell definition within the MSC and RNC
- Performing rehome/data translations including MSC to Node-B, BSC/RNC and 911 phase changes
- Understanding 2G, 3G and UMTS technologies
- Attending status meetings
- Performing off-hours support as needed

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience with Alcatel Lucent wireless technologies. This includes an thorough understanding of ALU RNCs, ALU BSCs, ALU Media Gateway and ALU UMTS Switches (LCP)

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with Alcatel elements
- Expertise with Alcatel Lucent (ALU) technologis including RNC, Media Switching Center, Media Gateway and Node B.
- Experience with provisioning IUCS, IUPS, IUR and IUB
- Knowledge of UMTS and GSM call flow
