Summary:
This position is responsible for the architecture, standards, and overall availability and performance of a Unix/Linux server environment. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Servers, this technical position will assist with the development of the Unix/Linux server strategy and work with an outsourcing vendor to ensure that it is implemented to satisfaction. This role will also be responsible for enterprise project design work.
REQUIRED:
Must be comfortable doing some hands on work but will be working with Hewlett-Packard to implement most solutions
Extensive knowledge of the Unix/Linux environment including HP Superdomes, HPUX, and Sun and Solaris offerings
Hands on architecture and administration experience with mission critical, highly available, Unix Servers and software including clustering, load balancing, and grid computing
General knowledge of Wintel, Storage, and Client technologies and best practices
General knowledge of SAP and Oracle services and implementation best practices
Ability to clearly communicate and document designs, roadmaps, strategies, and processes
Knowledge and experience with the standard project management processes and gating methodologies
Ability to set technical direction and make decisions based on a combination of business criteria and technical specifications
must be an agent for change and comfortable suggesting and designing solutions that utilize new technology for Rockwell
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate discipline or six years related experience plus six years of related exempt experience
