Seeking well rounded BI Architect that has Essbase experience as well as other BI tools such as OBIEE.

Responsibilities:
Technical leadership role responsible for setting the direction and establishing standards for how Essbase will be deployed within the organization.

Functions as a mentor to other associates learning the technology. Actively participates in project delivery translating requirements into solutions.

Responsible for overall architecture and strategy for the deployment of Essbase as a technology. Establishes standards for the technology including identification of appropriate uses for all options within the Essbase technology stack (ASO, BSO, Data Integrator, System 9/OBIEE)

• Plays a technology leadership role across one or more projects where Essbase is targeted for use. Responsible for understanding user requirements and translating those requirements into well architected solutions
• Performs quality assurance & design review functions for all projects where the technology will be utilized
• Researches and recommends alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal direction. Analyzes trends to proactively prevent problems.
• Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies and integration options with Essbase.
• Complies with project management methodology requirements as appropriate. Develops detailed program specifications for self and others.
• Tests and implements systems and enhancements using techniques that meet generally accepted coding standards. Assists less senior engineers when performing system and acceptance testing. Develops accurate and reliable cost analysis estimates.

Requirements:
Education:

• B.S./B.A. in computer science, engineering, information systems preferred, and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
• 4-6 Years Hyperion Essbase experience
• 2+ years serving in a lead role
• Working with both ASO and BSO databases
• High-level working knowledge of OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Micro strategies. Designing & troubleshooting complex calcs
• Broad technology footprint experience (UNIX, MVS, multiple database platforms). Emerging technologies
• Alternative actions for problem resolution
• Problem escalation
• Policy and methodology enhancements
• Develops task level estimates
• Develops program specifications
• Provides input on project schedules

Preferred Skills:

• Hyperion Essbase experience v 6.5 or higher, System 9 preferred
• Partitioning experience preferred
