What you need for this position:

- Must be a Registered Nurse with a 3+ years administrative and supervisory experience in a long-term care setting
- Extensive knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid requirements
- Experience with survey protocols and investigative procedures
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and currently registered with the State Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses in Colorado
- Knowledge of rehabilitative nursing

What you'll be doing:

- Planning, budgeting, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times in accordance with the Budget and Operation Plans of the organization
- Interviewing and hiring department personnel or monitors and evaluates the process if delegated to another person
- Developing, implements and maintains work routines and special staffing schedules
- Planning, directing and evaluating orientation and in-service training programs for the professional and non-professional staff
- Scheduling, presenting and recording regular department meetings
- Reviewing revises department job descriptions and work routines for all department positions on at least an annual basis
- Participating in the preparation of the operating and capital budget for the Nursing Department
- Planing and conducting discussions with the supervisory and professional nursing staff to encourage participation in formulating Nursing Department goals and objectives
- Reviewing department goals on a quarterly basis
- Supporting and implements administrative policies established by the governing authority and/or by the Executive Director
- Department Inventory Control
