Located in the metro area of Tuscaloosa, AL we are a prestigious, compassionate medical organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare to patients and their families. We are looking for an exceptional Nurse Auditor to join our team!

What you need for this position:

- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Currently licensed by State of Alabama
- 2+ years of experience in patient care or chart auditing, medical necessity reviews, coding reviews, and billing reviews
- Knowledge of CPT/HCP, CS/ICD-9/CCI Coding, Medicare/Medicaid bill compliance rules and regulations is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills!

What you'll be doing:

You will be reporting to the Clinical Supervisor
-Research and analyze charges, CPT coding, modifiers and billing processes to assure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid guidelines and other insurance payors to maximize reimbursement
- Advise, educate and act as clinical/billing liaison between CFOs, department managers and billing staff to maximize reimbursements within compliance guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance payors.
- Work with department managers and finance to develop and maintain Charge Master compliance with Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance payors to assurance compliance
- Explain charges and charging procedures to patients and third party insurance companies for defense audits and customer relations.
