Physical Therapy Assistant
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists the physical therapist in various types of treatment and transports, as well as administering, monitoring and documenting patient care. The PTA is active in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and Hospital activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to the Hospital.
What you will be doing:
~ Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the Physical Therapy Assistant competency checklist.
~ Performs documentation in a timely and efficient manner. This includes: progress notes, discharge summaries, patient and family education, staffing sheets, and transdisciplinary plan of care.
~ Maintains an open communication with the physical therapist on patient performance and progress.
~ Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary in providing care from the young adult to geriatric population.
~ Develops and executes a treatment plan specific to the patient's functional mobility disorders with goals which are consistent with diagnosis and functional daily mobility needs.
~ Demonstrates the ability to maintain an appropriate patient caseload, effectively schedules patient's treatment sessions, and maintains patient's records and charges.
~ Assists the physical therapist as needed to perform evaluations, reassessments, and complex procedures.
~ Adhere to Hospital policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.

What you need to have:
Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant school
Current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state where currently practicing
Current BLS certification required
