Cost Accounting Director

International manufacturer and distributor of consumer products seeking a Cost Accounting Director. This position ensures accurate assignment of costs to products in a standard cost environment, monitors and reports cost variances, values inventory and provides key support for the sales and operations teams.

The Cost Accounting Director is proactive and responsible for the development of new processes relating to standard cost methodology for margin analysis and customer pricing, comparison of costs internally as compared to outsourced both domestically and internationally, analyzes inventory transactions for accuracy, analyzes and reports margins, material costs and usage including variances, analyzes production variances and provides reporting and explanations, and calculation of Excess and Obsolete Reserve.

Strong working knowledge of: standard cost development including knowledge of alternative costing methods including activity-based, cost center rates, product counting, manufacturing variance: material yields, over/under absorption of overhead, efficiency metrics, labor productivity

Supervise preparation of margin reporting and performance analysis. Responsibility to coordinate, consult or advise management to ensure an understanding of manufacturing costs related to product profitability and apply sound business projections for future needs. Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff

Requirements for this position are:
~ BA in Accounting
~ CPA, MBA or CMA a plus.
~ 10-20 years of Cost Accounting
~ Experience in Cost Accounting with Oracle in a plant environment.
~ Supervisory experience.
~ Hyperion, Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
