Our client requires a Senior Labour Relations Lawyer to provide advice on legal issues relating to labour relations, as well as human rights and employment matters.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Litigation, the individual hired into this position will advise internal clients on labour/employment issues and human rights matters. This person will conduct grievance arbitrations and matters before the Labour Relations Board.

Requirements:
Prospective candidates must possess the following attributes:
- experience dealing with labour issues in a unionized workplace
- extensive experience conducting arbitrations
- proven self-management skills
- the ability to identify and raise issues of concern
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- the ability to thrive in a team environment
- an active member of the Law Society of Alberta or eligible for immediate membership

The ideal candidate will have experience providing advice prior to and during a labour strike and be aware of the issues in a strike situation.
